New home luggage pick-up service - 14/09/10 SOURCE: www.celebritycruises.co.uk
""A new luggage collection service from Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises means that the outstanding service experience can now begin the moment guests leave their front door. The service will allow travellers to have their holiday luggage collected from their home, delivered directly to their stateroom on-board their chosen ship and delivered back to their home after their cruise avoiding any hassles with heavy luggage.
A collection time is arranged directly with the guest and once picked-up; the safe and secure luggage service is track-able allowing guests to monitor the location of their luggage. Luggage is collected between 24 and 96 hours prior to the cruise departure depending on the address location in mainland UK.
Dominic Paul, managing director, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, UK and Ireland, explains:
"The new luggage service has been designed to further enhance the exceptional service experience our guests receive whilst on-board any of our UK based Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises ships. We see this service as particularly useful to our guests with mobility issues, large families or need to travel some distance to the port. The service extends the holiday from the moment guests leave their front door, right up until their return by providing an easy and convenient luggage transportation which takes the burden of dealing with baggage away from our guests".
The new luggage collection service costs £35 per luggage item each way, and is available for cruises on-board the UK-based Royal Caribbean International ships Independence of the Seas for cruises from Southampton, Jewel of the Seas for cruises from Harwich, and Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse cruises from Southampton.
Guest book the new luggage collection service by calling 0845 686 0662. Collection must be booked at least five days in advance of departure. The service operates seven days per week. The service is currently not available in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland."" BOLD Text is mine
